Solstar Space Co. Launches Deke Space Communicator into Low-Earth Orbit
The Deke Space Communicator from Solstar Space Co. successfully launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, marking its debut in low-Earth orbit. This innovation aims to enhance communication capabilities for low-Earth orbiting spacecraft, potentially revolutionizing telemetry and astronaut connectivity.

The Deke Space Communicator, developed by Solstar Space Co. in Santa Fe, was launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base. This mission will involve a year-long testing phase to evaluate the device's performance in enabling Wi-Fi-like connectivity for low-Earth orbiting spacecraft, enhancing telemetry and tracking data access.
Previous tests on suborbital flights have led to this significant advancement, now working with three strategic customers, including NASA. Testing will commence in late April after stabilizing the Vigoride orbital service vehicle, which is manufactured by Solstar's partner, Momentus. The successful deployment could position Solstar to market the Deke Communicator effectively, transforming communication for space operations.
