South West Water (SWW) is addressing widespread water supply disruptions in Cornwall caused by Storm Goretti. Residents in the St Ives to Nancledra area are experiencing low pressure or complete loss of water supply as repairs on a pump at Trevethow are conducted.
SWW has established bottled water stations at Trenwith car park and The Engine Inn, and is delivering bottled water to vulnerable customers. Approximately 100 customer inquiries have been logged. Following Storm Goretti, which caused significant infrastructure damage, about 3,000 homes had been reconnected while 1,250 properties remained without power.
The government's emergency response includes collaboration with local authorities to expedite repairs and support vulnerable communities. Financial impacts from the storm damage are expected to be substantial.
