M K Stalin inaugurated the Mitsubishi Electric India Private Limited manufacturing facility for Room Air Conditioners and Compressors in Gummidipoondi. The facility, which required an investment of Rs 1,633 crore, will create 2,104 jobs.

This inauguration follows the signing of MoUs with the Tamil Nadu government in May 2023 and January 2024. The facility is unique as it manufactures both Room ACs and Compressors in one location. Currently, the company has employed 629 people, including 200 women. The event was organized by the Investment Promotion and Trade department, with the presence of Industries Minister TRB Raaja.
