Stefan Schönegger Appointed CTO of ABB Machine Automation (B&R)
Stefan Schönegger has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ABB Machine Automation as of February 1, 2026. He aims to advance automation, software, and autonomous industrial solutions with a focus on open ecosystems and partnerships. Schönegger has been with B&R since 2006, previously serving in various leadership roles, including product management. He succeeds Florian Schneeberger, who became Division President of Machine Automation Division and CEO of B&R Industrial Automation on November 1, 2025.

Stefan Schönegger has assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at ABB Machine Automation, effective February 1, 2026. He plans to enhance automation, software, and autonomous industrial solutions, emphasizing open ecosystems and partnerships.
Schönegger has worked at B&R since 2006, starting as a project manager and progressing through various leadership roles, including product management. He takes over from Florian Schneeberger, who has been the Division President of Machine Automation Division and CEO of B&R Industrial Automation since November 1, 2025.
