Stellantis has launched the Turbo 100, a new 1199cc petrol engine for the Peugeot 208 and 2008, designed to improve reliability and efficiency. This three-cylinder turbocharged engine retains 99bhp but features 70% new components.

A key improvement is the shift from a rubber timing belt to a metal timing chain, enhancing reliability and reducing maintenance intervals to every two years or 25,000 miles. The engine has undergone rigorous testing, with over 30,000 hours on test benches. Additional enhancements include a high-pressure fuel injection system and revised valve timing for reduced friction.
