STMicroelectronics and NUS Launch HELIX Corporate Lab for Edge AI Research in Singapore
The ST-NUS HELIX Corporate Lab has been established to advance edge AI technologies in Singapore over four years. This initiative integrates academic research and semiconductor industry expertise, focusing on generative and embodied AI applications.

The ST-NUS HELIX Corporate Lab aims to enhance Singapore's edge AI capabilities by merging research from the National University of Singapore with STMicroelectronics' semiconductor expertise. Funded under the Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2025 plan, the lab will explore innovations in AI algorithms, accelerator architectures, and low-power memory systems.
Utilizing ST's P18 18nm FD-SOI technology and embedded Phase Change Memory, the lab will address energy efficiency and memory bandwidth challenges. This initiative not only supports advanced R&D but also fosters talent development within Singapore's semiconductor ecosystem, ensuring alignment with the nation’s economic goals for digital innovation and manufacturing.
