Losant's technology will be integrated into SUSE's Edge portfolio, with a focus on interoperability and collaboration with open-source communities. The move positions SUSE as a leader in full-stack industrial IoT solutions.

SUSE has acquired Losant, an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform, to enhance its edge computing capabilities, expanding from Near Edge and Far Edge to Tiny Edge. The acquisition aims to eliminate traditional silos in industrial infrastructure and establish an open platform for process automation that provides real-time insights.
Losant's integration into SUSE's Edge portfolio will focus on interoperability, enabling faster deployments and improved operational awareness. According to 451 Research, IoT endpoints are expected to evolve into AI endpoints by 2026, driven by cost-effective connectivity, facilitating a shift to semi-autonomous AI-driven systems. The technology will be made open-source, promoting standardization and interoperability in industrial environments.
