SUSE Launches Industrial Edge Platform at SuseCon 2026
SUSE's Industrial Edge platform integrates execution infrastructure, connectivity, and operational visualization, enhancing industrial IoT capabilities. This innovation addresses the need for real-time decision-making in heterogeneous industrial environments, significantly improving operational efficiency.

The Industrial Edge platform from SUSE unifies execution infrastructure, industrial equipment connectivity, and operational visualization. Announced at SuseCon 2026 in Prague, it offers a comprehensive architecture across three layers: Near Edge, Far Edge, and Tiny Edge, enhancing data processing capabilities.
The acquisition of Losant's IIoT platform in February 2026 allowed SUSE to introduce essential components, including a runtime infrastructure based on SUSE Linux and a no-code workflow engine. This platform facilitates real-time decision-making, enabling industries to enhance performance and operational awareness while reducing waste. Competitive dynamics include AWS Greengrass and Azure IoT Edge, emphasizing the importance of SUSE's open-source architecture and interoperability.
