Chris Newman and Nette Huntley extended their Victorian terrace in Peckham, prioritizing sustainability and recycling. The project showcases innovative reuse of materials and eco-friendly design, highlighting the potential for low-waste construction in urban settings.

In 2022, Chris Newman and Nette Huntley executed a sustainable extension to their Victorian terrace in Peckham, focusing on recycling materials. The project involved retaining existing features such as a wooden floor and structural steelwork, with architect John Proctor designing a triple extension to enhance space utilization.
Innovations included a warm deck roof for an allotment garden and oversized windows to maximize natural light. The family lived on-site during renovations, successfully integrating a heat pump heating system while reusing original radiators.
Additionally, they installed green roofs and managed to repurpose incorrectly delivered windows. This project exemplifies how urban home extensions can align with eco-friendly principles, potentially influencing future residential developments.
