Synaptics Launches SYN765x, First AI-Native Wi-Fi 7 MCU for Edge IoT Solutions
At Embedded World 2026, Synaptics introduced the SYN765x, the first AI-native connected microcontroller with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and 802.15.4. Designed for smart appliances and industrial IoT, the SoC integrates a Cortex-M52 processor and an Ethos-U55 NPU, enabling local AI processing and advanced wireless capabilities. The SYN765x supports tri-band connectivity and features a high level of system integration, reducing complexity and costs for IoT designs. Production is targeted for Q4 2026.

Synaptics announced the SYN765x at Embedded World 2026 as the first AI-native connected MCU supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and 802.15.4. The SoC integrates a Cortex-M52 processor and Ethos-U55 NPU, allowing local AI processing for applications in smart appliances and industrial IoT.
It supports tri-band connectivity with a sustained throughput of 20 Mbps and 50 GOPS performance. The design reduces system complexity by integrating essential components onto the chip, decreasing bill of materials by 25%. Engineering samples are expected by April 2026, with full production targeted for Q4 2026.
