Taiwan and Czech Republic Collaborate on Semiconductor Talent Development Model
Taiwan's National Institutes of Applied Research and Czech partners have developed a model for semiconductor talent collaboration. The Advanced Chip Design Research Center, supported by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, involves NIAR and the CyberSecurity Hub CZ with three Czech universities. The initiative includes talent cultivation and joint research groups that align curricula and connect students with industry applications. Taiwanese startup Jmem Tek opened a subsidiary in Prague, marking a significant milestone in cross-border industrial investment. The center aims to become a hub for joint doctoral training and applied research.

Taiwan's National Institutes of Applied Research (NIAR) and Czech partners have established the Advanced Chip Design Research Center (ACDRC) to foster semiconductor talent development. Supported by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the center connects NIAR with the CyberSecurity Hub CZ, which includes Masaryk University, Brno University of Technology, and Czech Technical University in Prague.
The collaboration features talent cultivation and joint research working groups. Notably, Taiwanese startup Jmem Tek plans to open a subsidiary in Prague in April 2026. The center aims to evolve into a hub for joint doctoral training and applied research, contributing to semiconductor sovereignty initiatives like the European Chips Act.
