Tamil Nadu Technology Hub Partners with XeedQ GmbH for Quantum Computing Initiatives
The Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (iTNT) has partnered with Germany's XeedQ GmbH to launch quantum computing initiatives, providing students and startups with access to real quantum hardware. Announced at the Umagine 2026 tech conference, the collaboration will initially offer remote access to a 4-qubit quantum computer, with plans for Tamil Nadu to host a physical quantum computer in the future. This initiative aims to democratize access to quantum technology and strengthen the state's deep-tech ecosystem.

The Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (iTNT) has signed a Letter of Intent with Germany's XeedQ GmbH to launch quantum computing programs providing students and startups access to real quantum hardware. This agreement was made at the Umagine 2026 tech conference.
Initially, participants will have remote access to a 4-qubit quantum computer developed by XeedQ, enabling hands-on experimentation and algorithm testing. In the second phase, Tamil Nadu aims to be the first Indian state to place a physical quantum computer within its innovation ecosystem.
The initiative, supported by the Tamil Nadu government, will be based at the iTNT Hub on the Anna University campus and will include structured onboarding and capacity-building sessions. The collaboration seeks to democratize access to quantum computing and enhance the state's deep-tech ecosystem, with a review of the pilot program's outcomes planned for the future.
