TAP Confirms Capacity Expansion to 1.2 bcm/y, Enhancing Europe's Gas Supply Security
TAP announces the full operability of a 1.2 billion cubic meters per year capacity expansion, following a new compressor installation at Kipoi. This expansion supports energy security in Europe five years after TAP began gas deliveries from the Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan. TAP’s role in the Southern Gas Corridor is crucial for diversifying energy supplies. Separately, Enagás launched the Alisios LNG bunkering vessel in Spain to promote LNG and bio-LNG for maritime transport, supporting decarbonisation efforts.

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has confirmed the full operability of its capacity expansion to 1.2 billion cubic meters per year, facilitated by a new 15 MW compressor at the Kipoi station near the Greek-Türkiye border. This enhancement, part of the Southern Gas Corridor, strengthens Europe's energy security by delivering gas from Azerbaijan.
TAP has transported over 55 billion cubic meters of gas since its operational start in late 2020. Concurrently, Enagás launched the Alisios LNG vessel in Huelva, Spain, to supply LNG and bio-LNG for maritime transport, which supports the decarbonisation of the sector and meets growing demand for sustainable fuels.
