Tatra Trucks is modernizing its engine production by integrating Heckert HEC 800 machining centres, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. The new production cell is designed to increase output and flexibility, allowing for customized motor housing on demand.

Tatra Trucks, based in Kopřivnice, Czech Republic, is upgrading its engine production with a new cell featuring Heckert HEC 800 machining centres, set to improve efficiency and lower energy costs. The company plans to replace its traditional transfer line with this automated solution, which will handle the complete machining of V8 and V12 motor housings.
The new system, operational from early 2025, will increase production capacity to approximately 1,600 units annually. Tatra's investment in advanced machining technology and automation highlights a strategic shift to meet rising demand while optimizing space usage and operational costs.
