Taylorsville Secures $5 Million Grant for Sewer System Resilience
Taylorsville has accepted a $5 million grant to enhance its sewer infrastructure, addressing vulnerabilities exposed by Hurricane Helene. Additionally, the Town Council is set to amend the Solid Waste Ordinance in response to public input on sanitation issues.

Taylorsville Town Council approved a $5 million grant from State Revolving Grant Funds for sewer system improvements, including pump station reconfigurations and floodproofing efforts. A public hearing is scheduled for May 5 to amend the Solid Waste Ordinance concerning brush and limb pickup in response to community concerns.
Council members also discussed industrial development incentives, with proposed capital investment levels ranging from $500,000 to over $30 million, offering property tax reimbursements. Other approvals included financial consulting services, a Downtown Business Incentive Program, and participation in a Regional Water Source Feasibility Study. The Council aims to enhance local services and address community issues while promoting economic development.
