Tenaris and BP Sign Four-Year Contract for Tangguh UCC Project in Indonesia
In a strategic move to bolster Indonesia's energy security, Tenaris SA, a prominent steel pipes supplier based in Luxembourg, has entered into a four-year agreement with BP PLC, the esteemed oil and gas firm headquartered in London. This partnership will see Tenaris supply vital casing and tubing, including specialized 13Cr steel grade tubulars, for the Tangguh UCC project located in Papua Barat, Indonesia.
The Tangguh UCC project encompasses the development of the Ubadari gas field, which aims to enhance gas recovery through innovative carbon capture, utilization, and storage techniques, alongside onshore compression initiatives. Liu Jinghua Philix, Tenaris's managing director for the Asia Pacific region, highlighted the significance of this collaboration in advancing lower carbon solutions that align with global energy transition goals.
