The Earth Lab and Tandem Global Expand Community-Driven Climate Solutions in Mexico

The Earth Lab and Tandem Global have collaborated since 2021 to enhance high-integrity carbon projects in Mexico, focusing on biodiversity initiatives that support Indigenous and rural communities. Their partnership emphasizes a community-first approach, integrating technical rigor with cultural preservation.

Projects include women-led mangrove restoration in Chiapas and cultural stewardship in Quintana Roo and Yucatan. The collaboration aims to expand community-driven portfolios, biodiversity monitoring systems, and investment pathways for verifiable carbon credits.

The Ejido Sisal has achieved international certifications for its carbon project, recognized for habitat management and sustainable practices. In 2023, it received the Tandem Global Marine Intertidal Project Award, and in 2025, it renewed its WHC Certification, exemplifying the commitment to biodiversity and community-based conservation.
