Theaus Global Inc. has formed a strategic alliance with NorthernNations Cooperative Group to advance carbon pathways associated with Alberta's oil and gas assets. This Carbon Alliance aims to create high-integrity, Indigenous-aligned carbon credits and improve access to international carbon markets.
Theaus Global will develop three scalable carbon-credit pathways: Solid-Form Bitumen Credits for reduced emissions during transport, Sequestered Oil Credits for long-term carbon storage, and Methane Abatement Credits to mitigate methane emissions from inactive wells. NNC Group will facilitate stakeholder engagement and market alignment. The collaboration is in line with the objectives of the Canada-Alberta Energy Collaboration Memorandum and Alberta's Mature Asset Strategy.
