UK Deep Tech Sector Achieves $5.9 Billion in 2025 Funding, Highlights Quantum Innovations
In 2025, the UK's deep tech sector raised $5.9 billion, marking the second-best funding year on record, with privately held companies valued at $155 billion and $406 billion including exits. Notable companies include Quantum Motion Technologies, which delivered the first full-stack quantum computer in September 2025 and raised over £42 million in February 2023, and Phasecraft, which raised $34 million to advance quantum computing applications.
Oxford Quantum Circuits secured around $100 million in 2024, while Nu Quantum closed a $60 million Series A round in December 2025. Riverlane, focused on quantum error correction, raised over $110 million, with Deltaflow 2 deployed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in September 2025. Other firms like Improbable, Synthesia, and Isomorphic Labs also reported significant funding and advancements in technology in recent years.
