UniKL Students Engage in Eco-Roots Project for Mangrove Conservation
The Eco-Roots Project involved 47 students from UniKL MESTECH focusing on ecological preservation and mangrove awareness. This initiative is significant for fostering environmental literacy and responsibility among future professionals in Malaysia.

On 13 May 2026, 47 students from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Institute of Medical Science Technology participated in the Eco-Roots Project at Taman Rekreasi Paya Bakau Kampung Sijangkang. The initiative, part of the Community Service 2 module, aimed to enhance understanding of mangrove ecosystems, emphasizing their role in coastal protection, biodiversity support, and carbon sequestration.
Participants engaged in field activities that highlighted the structure of mangrove habitats and their ecological functions. The project's CSR component fostered teamwork and a direct connection to environmental stewardship, contributing to sustainable development goals.
