The Union Cabinet approved the extension of the Jal Jeevan Mission until 2028 with a total outlay of ₹8.69 lakh crore, increasing the central funding to ₹3.59 lakh crore. This follows a halt in fresh funding due to corruption allegations that delayed payments to EPC companies.
Companies like L&T, Welspun, and pump manufacturers like Shakti Pumps are expected to benefit. The Jal Jeevan Mission aims to provide functional tap connections to rural households. Recent earnings calls indicate improved collections for companies involved, with notable orders linked to the mission.
