Unison Tube LLC has acquired PHI Hydraulics to enhance its tube forming technology offerings in the U.S. The metalworking sector is witnessing significant investments in advanced AI, automation, and facility expansions, driven by the need to future-proof operations amidst economic uncertainties.
Recent announcements include Van-Am Tooling & Engineering's expansion in St. Joseph, Mo., and Spark Ops Metalworks' consolidation in Fond du Lac, Wis., aimed at increasing production efficiency. In February, new orders for metalworking machinery reached $488.9 million, marking a 10.7% increase from January.
The ISM Manufacturing PMI Report indicates that manufacturing sector activity expanded for the third consecutive month, although supply deliveries slowed. These developments suggest a focus on agility and resilience in the face of geopolitical challenges.
