UniSQ Secures Funding for Three Industry Research Projects in Wastewater Management, Logistics, and Space Technology

QUANTUM COMPUTING

The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) has received funding for three industry-partnered projects addressing wastewater management, waste transport logistics, and space technology. Supported by the Australian Government's National Industry PhD Program, these projects involve collaborations with industry partners.

Dr. Sreeni Chadalavada will work with Toowoomba Regional Council to develop a model using sensors and AI to manage climate change impacts on the sewer system. Dr.

Francis Gacenga and Professor Ravinesh Deo will collaborate with Sida4 Impact and Dovetale Sport to create an AI-powered framework integrating quantum computing for optimizing waste transport logistics. The final project, led by Professor Duncan Wright, aims to enhance Australia’s space imaging capability by modifying a sensor for high-resolution imaging as part of a $50 million satellite initiative to establish a sovereign low Earth orbit satellite.
