U.S. Army Reserve Expands FRCS Modernization Efforts Through FY28
The U.S. Army Reserve is intensifying the modernization of Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS) to enhance infrastructure security. This initiative, driven by increasing cyber threats, aims to ensure operational readiness through a multi-year mitigation phase running until FY28.

The U.S. Army Reserve has initiated a multi-year mitigation phase for Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS), commencing in fiscal year 2025 and projected to complete in FY28. This phase follows the completion of inventory and assessment at Army Reserve-funded installations and focuses on improving cybersecurity, modernizing systems, and standardizing protections against potential cyber threats.
The Army Reserve collaborates with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and contractors Siemens Government Technologies and M.C. Dean Smart Buildings to implement these upgrades.
The transition to mitigation is expected to enhance operational resilience, safeguarding the infrastructure critical to military readiness. Future expansion phases are planned to further refine and standardize the FRCS security posture across all facilities.
