US Enhances Investment and Energy Collaboration with Namibia
The United States plans to boost investment and energy cooperation with Namibia, particularly in the oil, gas, and nuclear sectors. This initiative aims to mobilize capital for critical mineral exploration and infrastructure development, enhancing industrial resilience in Southern Africa.

The U.S. intends to increase investment in Namibia's offshore oil and gas sector, as stated by Ambassador John Giordano. Key financing institutions, including the Development Finance Corporation and the Export-Import Bank of the United States, will support projects aimed at strengthening the Southern African energy corridor.
The U.S. also emphasizes cooperation in civil nuclear energy, leveraging Namibia's position as the third-largest uranium producer globally. Recent Namibian participation in the International Conference on Nuclear Energy highlights the country's potential in the nuclear energy value chain. This collaboration may enhance energy security in the region but also poses risks related to nuclear technology management.
