U.S. Space Force Drafts RFP and RFI for EPPM Initiative
The U.S. Space Force has released a draft RFP and RFI for the EPPM initiative aimed at streamlining payload processing management. Responses are due by August 6, with a final RFP expected in early 2027.

The U.S. Space Force's Space Systems Command has initiated a draft request for proposals and a request for information for the National Security Space Launch Enterprise Payload Processing Management (EPPM) effort.
This initiative is designed to centralize the scheduling and procurement of payload processing services for space vehicle programs. The EPPM will utilize a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract structure with a five-year base period.
Responses to the RFI and draft RFP are due on August 6, while the final RFP is anticipated in Q1 FY 2027. Current plans include annual on-ramps for new providers. This development aligns with ongoing activities in the Space Force’s NSSL program, which includes significant contracts awarded to various launch service providers. The outcomes of this initiative may influence the competitive landscape for future space launch contracts.
