Uzbekistan Secures $35 Billion for Energy Sector, Aims for 50% Renewable Energy by 2030
Uzbekistan has attracted approximately $35 billion in energy investments, increasing its power capacity by 9 GW. The country's strategic plan targets a 50% share of renewable energy by 2030, bolstered by significant projects in solar, wind, and energy storage.

Uzbekistan's energy sector has seen a capacity increase to 25.8 GW, with electricity output rising from 60 billion kWh to 85 billion kWh. The combined capacity for solar and wind power surpasses 5.5 GW, contributing to 30% of the energy mix.
Major projects include a 150 MW battery storage system in Tashkent valued at $86.1 million and a planned 200 MW facility in Bukhara costing $200 million, both in partnership with AMEA Power. Additionally, AMEA Power is advancing a $1.06 billion initiative for a 1,000 MW wind farm. The government aims to enhance renewable deployment and infrastructure by 2026, with a target to exceed 50% renewable generation by 2030.
