Vale Enhances Carajás Mine Efficiency with Rockwell Automation Partnership
Vale aims to eliminate process water use at its Carajás Plant 1 in Brazil, targeting a 100% reduction in water consumption. Rockwell Automation is facilitating this transition through its advanced technologies and integrated systems across multiple suppliers.

Vale's Carajás Plant 1 will undergo upgrades to achieve 100% natural moisture operation, eliminating process water use and reducing tailings. Rockwell Automation is the integration partner for this project, managing automation and electrical systems from six suppliers.
The PlantPAx® Distributed Control System will optimize operations and mitigate risks associated with waterless production. The project reflects a commitment to both environmental standards and community impact in the National Forest of Carajás. Successful execution hinges on precise planning and minimal production downtime, underscoring the complexity of the initiative.
