Valmet to Enhance Energy Production Flexibility for Fortum in Finland

Valmet will provide automation solutions to Fortum in Finland, enhancing the flexibility of energy production. The solutions integrate into Fortum's existing Distributed Control System (DCS) and utilize advanced automation for efficient energy management.
This initiative aims to optimize the operation of electric boilers as Fortum shifts away from fossil fuels, improving participation in electricity reserve markets. The project was recorded in Q4 2025, with delivery expected in Q4 2026. The system will coordinate heat storage and production to achieve energy efficiency.
