Valmet has been contracted by GS E&C to provide an automation system for the new incineration facility in Seongnam City, South Korea. The facility will utilize intelligent automation to enhance energy production and reduce emissions, offering complete operational control over the waste-to-energy process.

It will have the capacity to process 500 tons of municipal waste daily and generate up to 9.9 megawatts of renewable electricity. Valmet's delivery includes a distributed control system and an information management system, covering engineering, design, commissioning, and supervision services, with operations set to commence in early 2028.
