Vannes Considers Data Center Development on Former Michelin Site
The mayor of Vannes, David Robo, is reevaluating the potential for a Data Center at the closed Michelin factory, which has been vacant since September 2025. This shift aligns with ongoing interest from developers and the need for job creation in the area.

As of late March 2026, there have been 53 expressions of interest for the former Michelin site in Vannes, which spans 15 hectares. The factory closed permanently on September 1, 2025, impacting 299 employees.
Mayor David Robo initially opposed the Data Center concept but is now open to discussing a limited installation on part of the site while emphasizing the need for job creation. Currently, there are no concrete developments despite interest from developers. The mayor's shift reflects an acknowledgment of the necessity for infrastructure to support local economic sovereignty.
