Vestas Aircoil's R&D team is exploring collaborative robots (cobots) to enhance production operations. They installed a Universal Robot UR10 in their laboratory for experimentation. The focus is to identify suitable tasks for cobots, with cobot-based welding using the Migatronic CoWelder 360 as a mature use case.

Automated testing with a cobot-mounted tube tester also highlights challenges with cycle time and variability. Short feasibility sprints allow rapid validation of concepts. The overarching goal is to build internal competence, reduce uncertainty, and prepare for future automation projects through hands-on experience.
