Vietnam's Resolution No. 57 Aims to Advance in Quantum Technology Development
Vietnam's Politburo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW includes quantum technology as a key focus for science, technology, and digital transformation. This initiative aligns with global trends, as major economies like the US, EU, UK, and China heavily invest in quantum technology.
Dr. Trần Đặng Bảo Ân from the UK's National Physical Laboratory highlighted the importance of this resolution, which aims to create new momentum for Vietnam's socio-economic development. The development focuses on quantum computing, communication, and sensing, with a shift towards practical applications and commercialization.
The EU invested approximately EUR 11 billion in quantum research over the past five years, while the UK aims to be a global quantum hub. Vietnam's participation in this field is seen as a chance to establish a foundation for applications in cybersecurity, high-performance computing, and biomedicine. To succeed, Vietnam needs a national quantum technology program, investment in research, and international cooperation.
