VIPA Approves Lease Extensions and Cleaning Contracts for Marine and Airport Operations
The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) has extended the lease of the Petite Pump Room until 2035 and approved new contracts for airport cleaning and marine operations. This move aims to enhance operational efficiency and tenant stability while addressing custodial service concerns at Cyril E. King Airport.

VIPA has approved a five-year lease extension for Petite Pump Room at the Edward W. Blyden IV Marine Terminal, effective through May 31, 2035, with provisions for a five-year option thereafter. Additionally, a supplemental cleaning contract was awarded to Double A Cleaning Services for Cyril E.
King Airport at $18,500 per month, with further charges for emergency services. The board also progressed on a lease for Priority Rural Services, allowing expansion to approximately 111,200 square feet to accommodate increased operational demand.
Concerns were raised about the efficacy of cleaning services at the airport, prompting discussions about accountability. These actions support VIPA's goal of improved service delivery while managing tenant relationships and operational costs.
