VIT Chennai Partners with Penang STEM for Technology Training MoU
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai and Penang STEM Sdn. Bhd. have signed a MoU for professional training in AI and Cyber Security. This collaboration aims to enhance skills and knowledge transfer between the two entities, addressing the growing demand in these technology sectors.

VIT Chennai will create training programs for employees designated by the Penang state government, supported by reciprocal visits for training. The MoU was established during the Chennai AI summit 2026.
Penang hosts 450 multinational firms, largely in the semiconductor sector, producing 10% of global chip supply. The training sessions will also address quantum computing and AI's applications across various industries.
Challenges in AI scaling include energy reliability and the need for improved coding technologies, as noted by industry experts. This partnership signifies a strategic move to bolster technological capacities in both regions.
