Water supply in Tarpum Bay and Rock Sound, South Eleuthera, was restored on February 13, 2026, after weeks of outages caused by frequent power failures impacting the local water plant. The outages led to a pump failure, reducing water production and affecting the community's ability to function, with children missing school and businesses closing.
Efforts by the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) and Aqua Design Bahamas initially included makeshift solutions, but a delay in spare parts necessitated the installation of a pump flown in from San Salvador on February 12. Following mechanical repairs at the Tarpum Bay Reverse Osmosis plant, water distribution resumed.
