Western Australia Partners with Italy to Expand Critical Minerals Trade
Western Australia has established a partnership with Italy's SACE to enhance trade in critical minerals and battery materials. This agreement aims to strengthen supply chains and capitalize on rising European demand for alternatives to Chinese sources.

Western Australia has signed a joint communiqué with Italy's export credit agency SACE to enhance trade in critical minerals and battery materials. This agreement aims to facilitate collaboration between WA and Italian businesses on supply chains and commercial projects.
Last fiscal year, trade between WA and Italy exceeded $900 million, with potential for growth as Europe seeks to diversify its sources of critical minerals. The partnership is part of a broader strategy to secure international collaboration in the lithium, nickel, cobalt, and rare earth sectors. The successful implementation of this deal could significantly impact the global energy transition and supply chain resilience.
