Western Mines Partners with Magnium to Monetize Waste Rock at Mulga Tank Nickel Project in WA
Western Mines Group has signed a non-binding agreement with Magnium Australia to explore the supply of magnesite from the Mulga Tank nickel project in Western Australia. This move aims to monetize an estimated 348 million tonnes of waste rock, which could provide essential feedstock for Magnium's low-carbon magnesium production. The project, which contains nearly 2 billion tonnes of nickel resources, could significantly improve Western Mines' economic outlook if the agreement leads to a formal supply deal.

Western Mines Group has entered a non-binding agreement with Magnium Australia to investigate the supply of magnesite from the Mulga Tank nickel project in Western Australia. The agreement aims to monetize over 348 million tonnes of waste rock classified as overburden.
Western Mines will define the extent of the magnesite cap and provide bulk samples. If suitable, a formal supply agreement will be established to support Magnium's Magsonic process for producing high-purity magnesium. The Mulga Tank project contains nearly 2 billion tonnes of nickel resources, enhancing its commercial potential in a challenging nickel market.
