Futureproof Cumbria has been awarded £300,000 by Westmorland and Furness Council to expand the Zero Carbon Cumbria (ZCC) project. This funding complements the £2.5 million received from the National Lottery five years ago, which facilitated climate action across various sectors in Cumbria.
The ZCC Partnership consists of over 300 individuals from around 80 organizations working collaboratively to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Support from the Lake District National Park Authority will help track progress in emission reductions and carbon storage. Michael Robinson has been appointed as the new partnership manager for the ZCC project.
