Yamato Steel Co., Ltd. is undertaking a modernization project at its Himeji section mill in Japan, collaborating with SMS group to implement compact cartridge stand (CCS) technology. This upgrade will replace two existing mill stands, enhancing production capabilities for H-beams, I-beams, and U-type sheet piles.

The project includes advanced automation, hydraulic roll adjustments, and a tandem rolling mill control system aimed at improving operational efficiency and product quality. Scheduled for completion in summer 2028, this initiative is designed to meet growing market demands for high-quality structural steel while improving energy efficiency and reducing operational costs.
