Yinson Launches Pilot CCS Unit on Agogo FPSO in Angola
Yinson Production has initiated the world's first offshore pilot carbon capture and storage unit on the Agogo FPSO in Angola. This pilot project represents a significant step towards integrating emissions-reducing technologies in offshore oil production.

Yinson Production has commenced operations of a pilot carbon capture and storage (CCS) unit on the Agogo FPSO offshore Angola, marking the first post-combustion CO2 capture system on an offshore facility. Developed with Azule Energy and Carbon Circle, this unit operates under real production conditions as part of the Agogo Integrated West Hub project in Block 15/06.
The Agogo field has approximately 450 million barrels in estimated reserves and aims for peak production of 175,000 barrels per day across two FPSOs. The Agogo FPSO has a production capacity of 120,000 barrels per day and was brought online in 2025, incorporating advanced emissions reduction technologies. This deployment is indicative of a broader industry trend toward integrating lower-emissions technologies in offshore operations to meet environmental goals.
