Zalando Deploys Nomagic AI Robots for Shoebox Automation in European Fulfilment Network
Zalando is enhancing its logistics by deploying up to 50 AI-powered robots from Nomagic to tackle shoebox automation challenges. The robots, named 'Richard,' utilize advanced computer vision and gripping technology to improve efficiency and order processing. Following a successful pilot, the rollout aims to support employees by automating repetitive tasks. The initiative reflects Zalando's commitment to AI-driven innovation in logistics across Europe.

Zalando is deploying up to 50 AI-powered robots from Nomagic in its European fulfilment network to improve shoebox handling. These robots, known as 'Richard,' utilize advanced computer vision and specialized gripping technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in order processing.
After a successful pilot phase with up to 100,000 picks per day, the rollout is active in Germany and Italy, with plans for expansion to the Netherlands, Sweden, France, and a new facility in Giessen, Germany. This initiative aims to automate repetitive tasks while allowing employees to focus on complex activities.
