The decision to locate in Bucharest leverages a well-developed business services ecosystem and access to qualified multilingual talent. This expansion is part of a strategy to enhance e-commerce operations in Europe, with a gradual transfer of activities and personnel over the next two years.
In Q1 2026, Zalando reported a gross merchandise value of €4.3 billion, showing a 6% increase pro forma and a 21.7% increase year-over-year. Continued investments in AI and logistics automation are also expected to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
