12 Projects Selected for Borderlands Energy Investment Programme to Support Net Zero Transition
The Borderlands Energy Investment Programme has selected 12 projects aimed at supporting the net zero transition in South Scotland and North England. Over the next 12-18 months, these projects will be refined for potential implementation, utilizing technologies like ground source heat pumps and hydrogen production to address rural energy challenges.

The Borderlands Energy Investment Programme (BEIP) has selected 12 projects to aid the transition to net zero in South Scotland and North England. The initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions, strengthen energy resilience, and create green jobs.
Selected projects will be developed over the next 12-18 months for potential delivery under the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal. Technologies include ground source heat pumps, solar carports, energy storage, and hydrogen production, addressing rural challenges such as fuel poverty and grid constraints. These projects are intended to position the Borderlands as a leader in net zero solutions.
