Gouraansh Sethi, a Class 11 student at The Shri Ram School in Gurugram, developed 'Project Piyau,' a greywater reuse system that recycles nearly 1,000 litres of water daily for non-potable purposes. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority recognized Sethi's initiative on February 9.
The project, initiated in May 2024, included refurbishing 26 bathrooms to create a testing zone for the system. Treated greywater is now used for flushing, gardening, and maintenance, reducing fresh water dependency. Sethi also launched an ambassador program to promote water reuse strategies and was invited to present his work at a UN Summit in December 2024.
