€1.7M Investment for Poitiers University Data Center Project Approved
The regional council has allocated €1.7 million to a data center project at the Poitiers University campus, set for completion in Q2 2027. This initiative aims to enhance digital infrastructure for higher education and research, responding to national digital sovereignty strategies.

On May 18, 2026, the permanent commission of the regional council in Limoges approved a €1.7 million investment in a regional data center project at the Futuroscope campus. Scheduled to be operational by the second quarter of 2027, following 18 months of construction, the facility will occupy 2,500 m² and support advanced data storage, computation, and AI services.
This project aligns with the State-Region Plan Contract (CPER) 2021-2027 and aims to integrate responsible digital practices by utilizing produced heat for urban heating networks. The establishment reflects a commitment to developing sovereign digital infrastructure.
