$17M Investment in Water Infrastructure to Enhance Flood Prevention in Nipissing Region
Ontario is investing $17 million in water infrastructure projects across Nipissing, with funding aimed at reducing flood risk and supporting housing. The City of North Bay will receive $11.6 million for wastewater facility upgrades, while Mattawa will get $4.3 million for a new water reservoir. Nipissing Township will receive $983,081 for culvert replacements. The projects will protect public health and allow for community growth.

Ontario announced a $17 million investment in water infrastructure projects in Nipissing, targeting flood risk reduction and community growth. North Bay receives $11,561,375 for upgrades to its wastewater treatment facility, addressing past flooding risks that could affect 17,000 customers.
Mattawa is allocated $4.3 million for a new water reservoir, essential for future housing development. Nipissing Township will get $983,081 for culvert replacements to protect access to 135 properties. The funding comes from Ontario's Health and Safety Water Stream under the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program.
