The 1974 BMW 2002 Turbo, one of 1,672 units produced, was built on May 24, 1974, and delivered to Italy. Acquired by Bill Erkelens of Oracle BMW Racing in the early 2000s, it later spent time in New Zealand before arriving in the US in 2004.
The vehicle was part of the Bill Young BMW collection in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before being acquired by the seller in 2014. Recent work in 2023 included rebuilding the fuel injection pump, radiator, brake master cylinder, and brake booster, along with replacing hydraulic cylinders and hoses.
