Kaduna Community Appeals for Urgent Infrastructure Repairs to Address Flood Risks
The Badikko Reformers Group and Progressive Youth Forum have urged Governor Uba Sani to prioritize road and drainage repairs in Badikko, Kaduna. They warn that without urgent intervention, flooding could severely disrupt access to key institutions and affect local commerce.

The Badikko Reformers Group (BRG) and Progressive Youth Forum (PYF) have requested Governor Uba Sani to address the deteriorating road and drainage conditions in Badikko, Kaduna. In a letter dated August 29, 2026, they highlighted the urgent need for rehabilitation to prevent flooding, particularly during the rainy season.
The groups identified critical institutions like the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House and the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital as being at risk, stating that poor infrastructure could hinder access to these facilities. They emphasized the impact on local commerce and safety, urging the government to conduct an immediate assessment and commence repairs.
The groups also called for the construction of adequate drainage systems to complement road work, warning that failure to act could lead to a humanitarian crisis during heavy rains. They linked infrastructure issues to governance, healthcare, and security, underscoring Badikko's strategic importance. Immediate government action is necessary to mitigate potential severe flooding and infrastructural collapse.
