Paras Defence & Space Technologies has obtained exclusive rights to produce and commercialize the Guardian interceptor systems in India, as per an agreement with Powerus disclosed to the US SEC. The arrangement, facilitated by Powerus subsidiary Tandem Defence LLC, includes a license fee and profit sharing from local sales.
Notably, this agreement does not guarantee that the Guardian system will be adopted by the Indian military, which must still evaluate it through standard procurement processes. The Indian Army has recently sought information on up to 45 drone interception systems and 50 drone catchers for diverse terrains.
Additionally, the Indian Air Force is pursuing domestic solutions to combat hostile drones. The agreement is significant for India's defense manufacturing landscape, enabling local production of foreign technologies as military requirements for counter-drone capabilities evolve.
